Privacy Policy

Car Detail Finder (“Car Detail Finder”, “we”, “us”) operates https://cardetailfinder.com (the “Site”), a directory of car detailing and window-tinting businesses and a service that lets you request quotes from, and book, independent local providers. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

Quote requests (customers). When you request a quote we collect the information you enter: name, phone number, email (optional), vehicle type, the service you want, preferred date, ZIP code and any notes. We also record the page you submitted from, the referring site, your IP address, the time of submission and, if you tick the SMS box, a record of that consent.

Providers. When a detailing business responds to a quote invitation or signs up as a partner we collect the contact name, business name, email, mobile number, the prices they quote, their acceptance of our Partner Terms, IP address and, if they opt in, a record of SMS consent.

Payments. Booking deposits are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe gives us a customer and payment-method reference so a saved card can be charged only when you accept a quote. Stripe's own privacy policy governs its processing.

Business listings. The directory contains business names, addresses, hours, ratings, review counts and service details collected from publicly available sources (primarily Google Business Profiles). Provider phone numbers, websites and booking links are held in our database but are not published on the Site.

Automatically collected. Like most websites we receive standard log data (IP address, browser, pages viewed, timestamps) and use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies to measure traffic. We do not use advertising cookies.

2. How we use information

• To send your quote request to up to three matched local providers and show you their quotes.
• To create and manage bookings, take deposits, and send confirmations, reminders and completion checks.
• To share your name and phone number with the one provider you book, after your deposit is paid, so they can perform the job.
• To notify providers of job opportunities they have agreed to receive.
• To operate, secure and improve the Site (fraud and spam prevention, rate limiting, analytics).
• To respond to your messages and requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

3. SMS / text-message program

If you opt in, Car Detail Finder sends transactional text messages about your quote request or booking — for example, when a quote arrives, when a booking is confirmed, and a one-tap check after the job. Providers who opt in receive texts about new job opportunities and booking updates.

• Opt-in is always explicit. Customers tick an unchecked box on the quote form; providers tick an unchecked box on the quote-response or partner sign-up form, or text a keyword such as JOIN to our number. We never text scraped or purchased numbers.
• Frequency: message frequency varies; typically up to 5 messages per quote request or booking.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Opt out any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. You can also contact us via the contact page.
• Consent to receive texts is not a condition of requesting a quote or booking a service.
• No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use-case categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4. Who we share information with

• Providers you request quotes from see your service request, vehicle type, preferred date, ZIP code and notes (with phone numbers, emails and links removed). Only the provider you book receives your name and phone number, and only after the deposit is paid.
• Service providers that run the Site: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Twilio (SMS) and Google Analytics. Each processes data only to provide its service to us.
• Legal: if required by law, to protect our rights, or in a merger or acquisition.

5. Retention

Quote requests, quotes and booking records are kept for as long as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes and meet legal and accounting obligations, then deleted or anonymised. Consent and opt-out records for SMS are retained to honour your preferences.

6. Security

Customer and payment data is stored in access-controlled systems, transmitted over encrypted connections, and is never exposed through the public Site. No method is perfectly secure; please contact us if you believe your information has been compromised.

7. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by using the contact page. Depending on where you live (for example, California and other US states with privacy laws) you may have additional rights, including the right to know what we collect and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do neither. Business owners may request corrections to, or removal of, their listing through the same page.

8. Children

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the effective date above will change and material changes will be noted on this page.
